The Peerless VTF (Vertical Turbine Fire) series is a line of fire pumps designed by Peerless Pump, a leading manufacturer of pumps and pumping systems. The VTF series comprises vertical turbine pumps specifically engineered for fire protection applications. Here are some key features and characteristics of the Peerless VTF series fire pumps:

  • 1. Vertical Turbine Design: The VTF series pumps utilize a vertical turbine configuration, where the pump impellers are mounted on a vertical shaft. This design allows for efficient water movement and optimized hydraulic performance.
  • 2. Fire Protection Compliance: The VTF series pumps are designed to meet the rigorous requirements and standards for fire protection systems, such as those outlined by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and local building codes. They are built to provide reliable and high-performance water supply for fire suppression in commercial, industrial, and municipal applications.
  • 3. High-Pressure Performance: The VTF series pumps are capable of delivering high-pressure water flow, essential for effective fire suppression. They are designed to handle the hydraulic demands of fire sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, and other fire protection equipment.
  • 4. Construction and Materials: These pumps are typically constructed using high-quality materials, such as cast iron, ductile iron, or stainless steel, to ensure durability, corrosion resistance, and longevity, even in demanding fire protection environments.
  • 5. Customization Options: The Peerless VTF series pumps offer customization options to meet specific project requirements. This may include pump size, capacity, discharge head, and motor specifications, ensuring optimal performance based on the specific application needs.
  • 6. Motor Options: The VTF series pumps can be paired with various motor types, including electric motors or diesel engines, depending on the project requirements and power availability. Motor selection is crucial for ensuring reliable operation and meeting the necessary performance criteria.
  • 7. Control and Monitoring Capabilities: Fire pump controllers are typically used in conjunction with the VTF series pumps to provide advanced control and monitoring functionality. These controllers can include features such as automatic start/stop, system status monitoring, alarms, and remote communication capabilities.
