Horizontal split case pumps are in-line pumps in which the pump housing is divided axially into two parts. Horizontal split case pumps are characterized by their high efficiency and low noise levels, as well as how easy they are to service. The pumps are designed to work in a variety of applications, including public water supply, district cooling and HVAC systems.
Grundfos LS horizontal split case pump and LSV vertical split case pump are single stage or two stages, non-self-priming, centrifugal volute pumps with radial suction and radial discharge ports. The pump has a horizontal pump shaft, and the housing can be dismantled in the horizontal plane along the drive shaft. Pump and motor are mounted as separate units on a common baseframe and connected via a flexible coupling. The impeller is hydraulically as well as dynamically balanced. The complete unit consists of pump, baseframe, coupling guard, and electric motor.
